I had the opportunity to spend time in the waiting room today at our doctor’s office. It was a beautiful (although toasty) Summer Sunday and I was sitting inside with son #2 who was suffering from a painful earache. I’m not usually a fan of waiting rooms. Something to do with contagious, dirty fingered children coughing and touching everything. (And then of course, there is everyone else’s children…) Since it was a Sunday the waiting room was quite empty so we were able to enjoy watching Madagascar 2 from a tiny screen on the other side of the room. We couldn’t hear it since the volume was turned way down but hey, my son’s ears were swollen so he couldn’t really hear much anyway. I tried using homemade ear drops at home (yes, I did) but they didn’t seem to go over real well with my 14 yr old. So the next step was to see a medical professional (and pay a co-pay).
My poor kid. He is still in a lot of pain. Hopefully the medicine will kick in soon.
I’ve been looking through my collection of Christmas magazines lately. They’re a great resource for inspiration. (And yes, it’s about time to start working on holiday crafts and decor.) I’m about halfway finished with a wreath made out of coffee filters and an old pool noodle. I had to take a break for a few days since It was so time consuming. (I was also getting quite annoyed with all the glue gun burns.) I think it’s a typical blogger’s schedule to start planning Christmas and Halloween decor while we’re still baking in the 100 degree temperatures of Summer.
These photos were taken at my friend, Debbie’s house. She has a wonderful year-round flower garden so it is always fun to snap a few pictures.
And then occasionally, Walker Texas Ranger will show up for an impromptu visit. (He really loves the paparazzi.)
So what about you? Have you assembled any Christmas crafts recently or interacted with a photogenic tortoise?

Ear aches are no fun, hope he’s feeling better soon! My daughter just keeps getting them, dang germ filled kids
I am in no way thinking about any holidays, I can barely walk outside it’s so hot! Now, Hobby Lobby already is in Christmas mode, seriously.

Thanks, Megan! I know what you mean. Shopping for Christmas decor when it’s 100 degrees out is a bit strange. (Just like shopping for a swimsuit in January!)
