I have a horse head on my kitchen table.
Yes, it’s true.
Sitting in a painted tray surrounded by brightly colored plastic succulents. And I must admit that I’m slightly obsessed with this excessively hefty equine. This horsey actually came into my life a few months ago. And yes, it was an impulse buy. It wasn’t as though I had “horse head” specifically written on my shopping list or anything. No, I spied the cement stallion under the fluorescent lights of the store and immediately had a vision of it sitting proudly on my table with a large timepiece in the background.
And yesterday, my vision came together as I found a large working clock. So the faithful steed (which was temporarily residing on a mini dresser in the living room) was able to take its rightful place on the middle of the kitchen table with the big clock keeping time in the background.
Now, the clock may need some sprucing up. Maybe a spot or two of paint. But so far, I’m digging it.
I’m also pleased to announce that my ivy plant is doing well. Bright green and growing. It’s a great accomplishment for me since I don’t usually have the best luck with live plants. (Remember the plastic succulents in the first photo?)
So what about you? Is decorating with stone animal heads your thing? Or displaying oversized time keepers? And what is the state of your house plant collection?
