Faux Taxidermy and a $200 Giveaway

Have you ever been extremely excited to open a present, package or gift?

Maybe you already knew what was inside.  That it was something fabulous.  Something you were going to love.

Well, that is exactly how I felt a few days ago when a hustling UPS guy delivered a large, plain brown box to my door step.  (A bit giddy, I was.)

Coupons.com (a digital coupon company) invited a few bloggers to transition their homes into Fall.  Each participant was given a digital gift card to use at Sears or Sears.com and access to extra online coupons for additional savings.  I used Sears.com and was amazed at the variety of items available.  It had so many more things than a typical retail store could ever hold.

And I knew exactly what I wanted to order.  Something to bring a little bit of Autumn into my home and to jazz up my gallery wall in the process.

A lovely white stag head.  (You may remember, when I previously confessed of my faux taxidermy obsession.)

It just reminds me of Autumn.  Of leaves changing, cooler temperatures and a gathering of hearth and home.

The deer head is already bringing a little more interest to the gallery wall.  And I’m looking forward to Christmastime too, so I can tie a wee scarf around his neck or add a small wreath.  Or maybe a pom-pom garland.  Or I could paint his antlers a fun color or maybe, just leave him as-is.
